In less than a month, the second volume of analog TV's lethal injection takes effect, covering major cities, including Jabodetabek.To enjoy digital TV broadcasts can be done without using a set top box (STB).The analog to digital tv migration or Analog Switch Off (ASO) has passed the implementation of phase one on April 30 and will continue in the second phase on August 25 covering major cities in Indonesia, including the Greater Jakarta area.The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has released a list of certified digital TVs, which means that these televisions can catch digital TV broadcasts and are officially circulated in Indonesia.Based on data that has been updated as of June 4, 2022, as many as 850 types or models of television sets have received Kominfo certification.The list of certified digital TVs comes from various brands along with models and types, such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Mito, LG, Realme, Polytron, Cooccaa, Changhong, Sanken, Sharp, Aqua, Akari, Philips, Toshiba, Sony, Hisense, until Realme entered the list of Kominfo certified digital TVs.Watching digital TV broadcasts without the need for a set top box is directly from a digital TV set, not from an analog TV.Because, if it's still from analog TV, you have to use a set top box.Kominfo stated that set top boxes and digital TV must meet the applicable requirements, such as in the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 4 of 2019 dated June 28, 2019 concerning Technical Requirements for Telecommunication Equipment and/or Equipment for the Purpose of Broadcasting Television and Radio Broadcasts."Every digital television set and set top box DVB-T2 set-top box that is traded, manufactured, assembled, imported and/or used in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia is required to observe technical requirements and be based on permits in accordance with laws and regulations," said Kominfo.The cessation of analog TV broadcasts that are switched to digital TV is carried out in three stages.ASO Phase 1 was implemented in 56 broadcast areas in 166 districts/cities on April 30.Then continued with ASO Phase 2 in 31 broadcast areas in 110 regencies/cities, and finally ASO Phase 3 was implemented in 25 broadcast areas in 63 regencies/cities.
