Android STB Cannot Be Used To Watch Digital TV Broadcasts

Set Top Box (STB) is divided into two types, namely Android STB and Digital STB.Despite their similarities, Android STB cannot be used to capture digital TV broadcasts like digital STB.Digital TV's lethal injection program or Analog Switch Off (ASO) makes people who still use analog TV need STB devices to watch digital TV broadcasts.Digital signal decoder or STB device (STB DVB-T2) is a Set Top Box decoder device that has a digital TV tuner.These devices can process digital broadcasts and convert them into analog signal-based audio and visual content so that they can be displayed on conventional TVs.The digital STB that can be used is DVB-T2 STB because the government uses a broadcast system based on DVB-T2 which is a second generation broadcast system and an update of the DVB-T system.Meanwhile, the Android STB works with the Android Box smart operating system.This device allows conventional TVs to adopt the Android operating system and make them a smart TV or smart TV.Generally, Android STBs are connected to a TV with an HDMI cable.Similar to Android STBs, digital STBs are also usually connected to a TV via an HDMI cable.If the TV does not have an HDMI port, it usually uses an RCA or AV port as the connector.Thus, the TV antenna will catch the digital TV broadcast, then send it to the digital STB for conversion, and forward to the conventional TV for broadcast.If the user's TV is a smart TV that is already equipped with a DVB-T2 digital tuner, then the STB device is no longer needed to convert digital broadcasts.Users only need to connect the TV to the antenna to capture digital broadcasts.The government through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) is holding the ASO program on a regular basis which is expected to be completed on November 2, 2022. The migration of analog TV broadcasts to digital TV is said to be able to provide better and clearer broadcast quality.In addition, this migration is also said to provide efficiency in the use of the radio frequency spectrum.
