I reviewed the first android TV from Acer at the start of the year 2022. It was the XL series 70-inch android TV. I was impressed with the TV as it was a good over all package. This time around I have the new Acer Television I series 4K UHD 55-inch Android 11 TV. For me, Acer has been a go-to brand for gaming monitors. The TV bit is still sinking in. Let's see what Acer Televisions with the new I series of TVs brings to the table.

Acer I Series 4K UHD 55 Inch Android TV sports a slimmer bezel on all four sides of the display. This design language has been incorporated from the first generation of TVs and adds an overall premium look to the TV. The overall black colour of the TV merges with the black screen when turned off giving a solid black look, which really looks neat on the wall. Add some frame around it and you are an interior designer.

There was a wall mount provided in the package this time around, last time the wall mount was shared separately for the 70-inch android TV from Acer. But this time around I mounted the TV on the wall, the last one was set on a table ( bi-pod stand mounts are provided on the box). ( bi-pod stand mounts are provided on the box).

The 55-inch panel is a 4K UHD that sports a 3840 x 2160 resolution and has added features like HDR10+ and HLG technology. The TV also supports UHD upscaling. Yes, UHD upscaling doesn't sound convincing, but a local feed of 1080 resolution gets upscaled to 2K. So most of what you view looks crisp and clear. The screen boasts 1.07 billion colours, a wide colour gamut+, a clever photograph stabilization engine, dynamic sign calibration, extremely good brightness, micro dimming and virtual noise reduction.

Like the most top-of-the-line Android TVs, the Acer I Series 4K UHD 55-inch Android TV houses a Mali G31 MP2, Open GL ES3.2 Cortex-A55 x4- 64 Bit,1.3GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. For external connectivity, there are three HDMI ports (HDMI 1 helps ARC) to attach a PC, computer, set-pinnacle box, Blu-ray audio system or recreation console, 2 USB ports to attach difficult drives or different USB devices. The audio on the new I series has been increased to 30 watts from two 15-watt high-fidelity speakers. The Acer I Series 4K UHD 55-inch Android TV comes with an Android 11 TV operating system out of the box. And since it is an Android TV, Google Assistant, Chromecast built-in, and voice-activated are built in.

Picture replication on Acer I Series 4K UHD 55-inch Android 11 TV is exceptional. I streamed 4K and HDR content, played some video games using my X-Box and tried some music. The 1,296 dimming zones with darker blacks delivered a good viewing experience and the high-fidelity audio system offers a clean sound for even a bigger viewing area. Priced at INR 47,999/, and running further discounts on some online portals, the Acer I Series 4K UHD 55-inch Android TV is one hell of a deal. I would have never dreamt of buying a 55-inch android TV a few years back. Acer, you have got this right.
