TRIBUNAMBON.COM -- The government through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) is migrating from analog to digital TV broadcasts or what is known as analog switch off (ASO).Analog TV users do not have to change to Digital TV.Simply buy or install a DVB-T2 set top box (STB) to enjoy digital TV broadcasts in Indonesia.To note, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has provided 12,750 units of Set Top Box (STB) assistance for Poor Households (RTM) in Ambon City.Secretary of the Department of Communications and Information Technology (Sekdis) of Ambon City, Ronald Lekransy, said the amount of STB assistance needed to be re-validated in relation to several requirements that must be met.Also read: Analog TV Broadcasting will be Stopped, Government Provides 12,750 STB Units for Poor Families in AmbonGiven, not all RTM will receive STB assistance, but only those who meet the criteria, namely;Own an analog TV set and enjoy broadcasting via a UHF antenna, not a satellite dish/cable TV subscription.In addition, the location of the house is within the reach of digital broadcasts and is willing to take advantage of STB's assistance.Not only that, one house can only receive one STB."Therefore, data on recipients of STB assistance needs to be validated by all village heads/kings/lurahs so that they are right on target, and later the data on beneficiaries will be determined through a decision letter from the Acting Mayor," said Ronald Lekransy, Tuesday (2/8/2022).It is known, according to the mandate of the Job Creation Law, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) will stop broadcasting analog television (TV) for migration to digital TV broadcasting or called Analog Switch-Off (ASO).ASO will be held no later than November 2, 2022.With this migration, people who want to enjoy digital broadcasts need an additional device on their TV called a Set Top Box (STB).
