CIKARANG SELATAN - A total of 44,963 poor families in Bekasi Regency will receive Digital TV Set Top Box (STB) assistance from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) RI.The STB assistance will be distributed to the community through PT.Pos Indonesia, as a follow-up to the Analog Switch Off (ASO) program, which is the gradual shutting down of analog TV broadcasts throughout Indonesia.The Bekasi District Secretary, Dedy Supriyadi, said that the number of recipients of STB assistance in Bekasi District refers to data on the acceleration of the elimination of extreme poverty (P3KE) from the Disdukcapil in 23 sub-districts."So, those who will receive STB assistance are households from extreme poor families, which will be distributed in stages, according to available data," said Dedy Supriyadi after attending the Technical Bimtek distribution of Set Top Box aid at the Nuanza Hotel, South Cikarang, on Tuesday, ( 06/09/2022).Dedy said that the distribution of free STB was very beneficial to help the poor so that they could enjoy digital television broadcasts."Yes, with this assistance, they no longer need to buy a decoder (STB) and can follow digital television broadcasts, like other residents," he said.Previously, the Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, said that the migration of analog television to digital television would take effect no later than November 2, 2022."So for the public, switching to digital TV is very easy. Just add a Set Top Box tool. Usually people call it a decoder.
