Set-top box (STB) software provider 3 Screen Solutions (3SS) and connected home products specialist Skyworth Digital are supporting new 4K STBs launched by Austrian national broadcast network operator ORS for its hybrid simpliTV service.

The Skyworth 4K hybrid Android TV DVB-S2 and DVB-T2 STBs are now available to customers for digital viewing on terrestrial and satellite TV under the simpliONE brand.

3SS devised the user experience in order to meet the requirements of simpliTV’s diverse audience base, with choices for ‘classic TV’ navigation and advanced discovery for streaming fans.

Thomas Langsenlehner, CEO of simpliTV, said: “In launching our simpliONE STBs, we’re providing our audience with additional flexibility and choice, and it’s a significant milestone in our journey to bring next-generation super-aggregated TV services to the widest possible audience. Thanks to our collaborative partnerships with Skyworth and 3SS, new powerful STBs are delivering an advanced custom UX which makes finding content easy.”
